So you're cleaning your face properly and eating healthy... but you're still getting annoying breakouts? I totally get it... taking care of your skin can sometimes be a b****. You do everything right but your still not seeing the results your after.
Well, I think I might have found one of the potential culprits!
After partnering with Danielle our pro makeup artist, I started to notice she was always washing her makeup brushes. I expressed my admiration for her good habit and she explained her reasoning (which I know is obvious) but I wasn’t an avid brush cleaner until she knocked some sense into me.
Here are 5 Things That Happen If You Don't Clean Your Makeup Brushes, that Danielle shared with me:
1. Bacteria Buildup. Makeup brushes touch your face, your makeup, your vanity, etc. There can be a lot of bacteria just on those places alone. Over time, your makeup brushes could gather a lot of nasty germs that don’t belong anywhere near your face.
2. Breakouts. Swiping a dirt and bacteria-infested brush all over your face can cause an overload of microbes that your skin isn't used to handling. If you're noticing bumps popping up in the same spots that you use your brushes and sponges, it's time to reevaluate your cleanliness.
