5. Spot Treatment/Pimple patch. All humans walking the earth have experienced a pimple...its life! Having an amazing spot treatment can stop a bad pimple in its tracks, reducing inflammation and killing bacteria. The goal is to get the spot treatment to work directly on the blemish and not have any other product interfere with the performance. If you find it too annoying trying not to smear the spot treatment, you can leave this step to the end! If you pick this route... take a damp cotton swab and wipe the blemish or broken out area to remove the skincare products that were just applied. Apply the spot treatment and let it dry. Done!
6. Serum. A.K.A Concentrated GOLD. Serums are highly concentrated and active; this is why they need to be applied first, to clean skin. This way all the active ingredients can penetrate your skin. There is seriously a targeted serum for every concern: age control, deep wrinkles, firming, hydration, dark spots, contouring, mattifying, brightening and sensitivity...you name it! Just a few drops is all it takes to power-up your beauty routine. Be sure you're using one that caters to your biggest skin care woes to help reach your skin goals.
7. Moisturizer. If I had to pick one product besides cleanser, it would def be a moisturizer. I'm all about that dewy, moisturized, as close-to-baby-skin-as-I-can-get skin. Moisturizers are usually the densest, hence why it's standing at #7.
8. Oil. Not everyone uses a moisturizer + oil, but for those who do...you want to put the oil on last to lock everything in. It’s important to understand that every skin care product has a molecular size. Oil is the largest of all molecules, a moisturizer is smaller, and serum is the smallest. If a skin oil is part of your routine, always use it as the last step over moisturizer.
